Wildlife Photographer
of the Year 2019

The Natural History Museum Basel presents 2019's best wildlife photographs. Breath taking landscapes, surprising animal portraits and dramatic spectacles of nature allow you to immerse yourself in the beauty and magic of nature.

Every year, the Natural History Museum London hosts the renowned 'Wildlife Photographer of the Year' competition. More than 48 000 images were submitted this year and photographers from more than 100 countries
subjected their work for the jury's critical examination. It selected the 100 most outstanding images, which can be admired in an impressive and atmospheric presentation in the special exhibition 'Wildlife Photographer of the Year' at the Natural History Museum Basel.

The exhibition seeks to raise awareness of the beauty of nature. At the same time, it is an urgent appeal to treat nature and its creatures responsibly.

To promote the fundamental idea of the exhibition, the Natural History Museum Basel is offering a supporting programme to the special exhibition with other educational formats, in addition to various guided tours.

'Wildlife Photographer of the Year' is owned by the Natural History Museum, London.
