Virtual Reality Experience 'Reef Dive'

Glide through the underwater world as a turtle and encounter other marine life.
1 – 5 p.m.
CHF 5 per dive

Once more, the museum keeps ready a very special Christmas present. But this winter, visitors can not fly through the air, but dive with 'Birdly'.

As turtle Rhea you swim through a beautiful, colourful coral reef that bursts with life. But the idyll comes to an abrupt end when the destruction of this fragile ecosystem due to climate change and pollution becomes visible. For the first time, humans can perceive the impact of their behaviour on the underwater world from the perspective of a marine dweller.

A special Virtual Reality headset makes it possible to see three-dimensional. But only in combination with the simulator called 'Birdly' you dive properly as soon as you move your turtle body with your arms and legs. This is how you determine where and how fast you swim and what you want to see up close.

This impressive experience is made possible by the Zurich company Somniacs with their ingenious flight simulator 'Birdly'. He will be at the museum until 12 January 2020.
