Mushrooms

They are ubiquitous and yet usually have a shadow existence. Mushrooms not only enrich our menus, but also serve as the basis for the production of medicines, contain deadly toxins or intoxicate our senses in the form of drugs.

Because of their Symbolic effect, Mushrooms are deeply anchored in our everyday life. The special exhibition brought to light the different effects of mushrooms. Around a hundred specimens and lifelike models were on display in the exhibition. In addition to biological aspects, the special exhibition showed how deeply rooted mushrooms are in our cultural consciousness.

The exhibition 'Mushrooms' was produced by the Naturmuseum Winterthur. The atmospheric staging at the Natural History Museum Basel made a visit to the exhibition a unique experience full of surprises.
